The lesson

Give a long list of updates one strong visual world, then reveal the count before the screens.

The move

After a dark forest with the Shopify bag logo, an oil-painting scene shows two leaping figures nearly touching hands: one with a pink shopping bag and a pink skateboard below the other, titled "Shopify Editions Winter '26". Later, a counter over painted flowers climbs to "150+ updates". Then tiles of product screens fill the view, and "Sidekick Pulse" appears.

Why it works

  • Our readThe title painting mixes a museum composition with sneakers, a skateboard and a shopping bag, so the tone reads as playful from the title onward.
  • Our readA big number before the product screens presents the release as a volume of work, so each screen then reads as one item from it.
  • Our readThe tiles of real UI come after the art, so the art sets the mood and the product proves the content.

What not to copy

Don't copy the Renaissance theme unless your release has a reason for it. Keep one art direction that holds across every scene, with real product screens as the proof.
