The lesson

Sell a new product by stating the old way's pain in plain numbers, then compress the idea into one analogy and one click.

The move

A Pitch Unfairly rebuild of a 2008 concept deck. The cover is "Push a button. Get a car." Slide two, "Getting a cab means calling and hoping.", sets "44 MIN WAITING" over rows for Hail, Dispatch, "Where is my cab?", ETA and Pay. Slide three contrasts "The medallion costs $500K. The driver makes $31K." as two bars.

Why it works

  • Our readThe problem slide reads like the dispatch screen itself, with "No GPS" and "No idea" as the answers, so the pain is shown as a product state.
  • Our read"The NetJets of car service" borrows a model the reader already understands, and the equation tile (a New York cab plus a private chauffeur) states the mix.
  • Our readA "Why now" slide on phones learning where you are gives the idea a timing reason before the product appears.

What not to copy

These numbers are part of the story, so do not reuse them as evidence. Keep the problem-as-interface slide and the one-line analogy, filled with your own sourced figures.
