The lesson

Put the end state of your story on the cover as a physical object, then spend the deck showing how it got there.

The move

A Pitch Unfairly rebuild titled "RUNWAY". The cover shows a blue sweater tagged $12.99 FINAL SALE, with $148.00 and $59.99 struck through. Later slides argue "Blue is a category. Cerulean is a decision.", plot a five-step adoption curve with a falling price, and map an org chart: "Six rooms chose your sweater. You were in none of them."

Why it works

  • Our readThe cover answers "where does this end up" first, so later slides read as an explanation of the markdown tag.
  • Our readA blue sweater icon and a price tag return on the curve slide ($8,000 struck to $1,800 at step 2), so the model reads as one thing getting cheaper.
  • Our readHeadlines pair a plain claim with an italic blue turn ("handed down, one room at a time."), so skimming the titles alone gives the argument.

What not to copy

Skip the fashion topic and the figures, which belong to the story. Keep the recurring object whose value changes from slide to slide, and the headline that states the thesis in one line.
