The lesson

Turn the thing people mock you for into a case file with a claim, evidence and ruling, so the stereotype becomes the credential.

The move

A deck rebuilt by Pitch Unfairly. It opens on "Serious about the law. Seriously pink." over an envelope addressed to the Admissions Committee. Later slides show a score report reading 179 and 99.9th, then "Woods v. the Boutique" with THE CLAIM, THE EVIDENCE, THE RULING and a WON stamp, then a table where "Warner is enrolled" is struck out.

Why it works

  • Our readThe boutique case uses the legal format the reader is judging her on, so a fashion anecdote reads as cross-examination skill. The three TRANSFERABLE SKILLS do the translation.
  • Our readThe comparison table strikes the personal reason out of the row instead of hiding it. That admits the motive and shows the case stands without it.

What not to copy

Don't copy the film jokes or the pink. Keep the pattern of a stereotype restated as a trained skill, and give the strongest number (179 out of 180) its own slide.
