The lesson

Open a discovery deck with a talk-time split that promises the seller will mostly listen.

The move

This Pitch Unfairly rebuild's cover says "You don't need this pen. Yet." with "20 MINUTES, MOSTLY YOU TALKING". The agenda, titled "For eighteen minutes, the pen stays in my pocket.", shows bars labeled YOU TALK three times, then I TALK. Later come five questions on an order ticket, then "Hand them a napkin before you hand them a pen."

Why it works

  • Our readPutting the seller's speaking share on the agenda makes the format a commitment the buyer can hold you to.
  • Our readThe ticket of five questions ("What did that cost you?") reads as something a rep could take into a call as written.
  • Our readThe napkin exchange is a short scripted dialogue with YOU and THEM lines, so the lesson plays as a scene rather than a rule.

What not to copy

Skip the pen and napkin props, which belong to the story. Keep the visible talk ratio and the numbered question list as the core of the deck.
