The lesson

Open a values or culture pitch by striking through the fake version everyone has seen, so your real rule has something to beat.

The move

A Pitch Unfairly rebuild of a 2009 culture deck, styled like a streaming title card with "98% Match" and a Play button under "FREEDOM AND RESPONSIBILITY." Slide two shows "Integrity Communication Respect Excellence" struck through and captioned "Enron's values." beside "VALUES ARE WHO YOU HIRE, PROMOTE, AND LET GO."

Why it works

  • Our readThe struck-out list gives the reader a familiar target before the claim arrives, so the headline reads as a correction rather than another values statement.
  • Our readA full-red slide with "ADEQUATE PERFORMANCE GETS A GENEROUS SEVERANCE." gives the hardest policy its own screen, which signals it was chosen on purpose.
  • Our readA "Who's on your team?" slide with four face tiles turns the Keeper Test into something a reader can sort people through.

What not to copy

Do not copy the Enron jab or the streaming-menu styling unless your audience gets the reference. Keep the strike-through contrast and one headline claim per slide.
