The lesson

Show the revenue math step by step on one slide, so every input can be challenged.

The move

A seed deck rebuilt by Pitch Unfairly uses one slide for "84M trips. A 10% fee. $2.1B a year." A card reads "Our share of budget and online trips: 15%", then "Trips with us 84M × average fee $25 = revenue a year $2.1B". Nested circles beside it step down from "2B+" to "560M" to "84M with us".

Why it works

  • Our readPrinting the share, the trip count and the fee lets a reader find the assumption they doubt, which is more useful than a single big number.
  • Our readThe problem slide is a hotel receipt with "Locals met 0" and "Real city seen 0", so the pain is the guest's own bill.
  • Our readThe traction slide pairs "629,993" with "people on Couchsurfing", using existing behaviour as the case that the idea is real.

What not to copy

Every figure here is part of a rebuilt story, so don't quote any as evidence. Keep the headline that states its own inputs and the receipt-style problem slide.
