The lesson

When trust is the question, write the explainer in the CEO's name and state the banks, regulators and insurance limits outright.

The move

The post is bylined to Immad Akhund, co-founder and CEO, under the title "How Mercury works with its partners to bring you powerful banking". The text names partner banks and the sweep network, and its one subhead comes near the end: "What's next: Mercury Bank, N.A.". Numbered footnotes with disclosures sit under the footer links.

Why it works

  • Our readA named founder explaining the arrangement makes one accountable person answer for the structure.
  • Our readNaming the banks and regulators in plain paragraphs answers the question a cautious reader would otherwise have to ask.

What not to copy

Don't copy the long, dense paragraphs that run with no subhead until near the end. Keep the senior byline and the plain account of how the product is built.
