Is Claude Design better than Figma?
For different jobs. Claude Design is faster to a first version. Figma gives a designer exact control and a shared library. You can use both.

Claude Design makes a first version from a prompt: a design, a prototype, slides or a one-pager. Figma is where designers draw, keep component libraries and hand specs to developers. Use Claude Design for fast drafts from a design system. Use Figma when a designer owns the file. They connect through Claude Code, not a direct export.

Make the first version from your design system.
Claude Design passes the work on, so it is built from the design, not a screenshot.
Figma turns a working UI in the browser into editable frames, from production, staging or localhost.
The Figma MCP server takes the design back into code for the next round.
Figma Community plugins that import a Claude Design HTML export also exist. Figma and Anthropic do not make them.
Two tools, two places your brand can drift.
A design system in Claude and a library in Figma drift apart. Pick one master and copy from it.
Each move between tools makes a copy. A fix in one does not reach the other on its own.
Claude Design lets anyone make an asset. Your designer becomes the reviewer for all of it.
Neither tool knows your voice or what never to do unless it is written in a file.
A DESIGN.md gives every tool the same tokens and rules.

Not directly. Figma is not on Anthropic’s export list. Hand the design to Claude Code, then capture the running UI into Figma as editable frames.
It is on every Claude plan, Free included, and uses your plan’s usage limits. Figma’s Starter plan is also free with limited access.
Figma Make is Figma’s prompt-to-app tool. It can use your designs, components and library styles, and publish the result as a website.
Through Claude Code. Figma’s MCP server lists Claude Code as a client, gives it design context and can write to the canvas.
Not for teams whose designers own their files in Figma. It can replace some first drafts, mostly for people who are not designers.
