The lesson

Let the founder introduce the release to camera, with name and title set big in the corners of the opening shots.

The move

The film opens on the founder in a dark studio among vintage computers on plinths, with a clapperboard. Corner type spells out "Zach", "Lloyd", "Founder", "CEO". Later, a tight close-up sets "Warp" and "2.0" on either side of his face. Another shot shows an agent session: "Code a new multiplayer page for this project" with Multiplayer_UI.png attached.

Why it works

  • Our readSpelling out name and role puts the person's accountability on screen, which suits a claim that the terminal is being reframed.
  • Our readThe old computers behind him set the history the new product is meant to break from, without a word of narration.

What not to copy

The studio, wardrobe and set pieces are Warp's. Keep the founder on camera and the big corner supers; skip the staging if your product is not about a change of era.
