The lesson

Tease a release by enlarging the product's smallest interactions until the interface alone is the whole picture.

The move

Monochrome macro shots on a grey-black ground. A search field reads "Search for apps and commands"; typing "clipbo" returns "Clipboard History" with the alias "ch". A Configure Command menu lists Set Hotkey, Set Alias and Manage Keywords, then a Set Hotkey dialog shows "e.g." with a shift-command-A key combination. A color list shows #FF6363 and #56C2FF.

Why it works

  • Our readTyping a partial word and getting the right command back demonstrates speed in one gesture, which suits a launcher built for frequent use.
  • Our readShowing the hotkey and alias setup suggests the product bends to the user's habits, a claim that is hard to make in words.
  • Our readRestricting the palette to greys means the few colors on screen, like the two hex swatches, stand out as real content.

What not to copy

The teaser barely names the product and lets the interface carry recognition, so a less familiar brand would need its name on screen sooner. Keep the real UI strings and the macro framing.
