The lesson

List the scattered things your product connects, one word at a time, then prove the connection in a real window.

The move

A white dot on black, then an orb beside a serif list: "Tabs", "Emails", "Calendars", "Socials", "Life". Each word comes into focus in turn while the others blur, and the orb changes color and texture with each one. A browser window then shows an assistant panel writing a walking route from the Tower of London beside a map.

Why it works

  • Our readOne orb that changes with each word gives the product a character before the interface appears.
  • Our readThe map task is easy to follow without narration: the prompt, the route and the numbered stops are all on screen.
  • Our readSerif type on a cream ground gives the film a calm, editorial feel, which suits a product about less tab-juggling.

What not to copy

The orb and palette are Perplexity's, so don't copy them. Keep the one-word-at-a-time list and a demo task a viewer can verify on screen.
