The lesson

Run a publication homepage as a sequence of named shelves with commissioned art, so the front page is itself the product tour.

The move

On a dark page under the EVERY wordmark, a banner and lead story grid precede labeled rows: "BUILT BY EVERY" with three product cards, "DISPATCHES FROM THE FRONTIERS OF AI", "PUTTING AI TO WORK", "THE FUTURE OF PROGRAMMING", "THE NEW RULES OF WRITING" and more. A stamp-art banner, "Ideas, apps, and training for the age of AI", sits mid-page.

Why it works

  • Our readA shelf name that describes a use, like "PUTTING AI TO WORK", groups articles by subject instead of date.
  • Our readPlacing the company's own products in the first labeled row shows it is more than a newsletter, with a Try it button on each card.
  • Our readThe saturated illustration against the dark page makes tiles easy to tell apart at thumbnail size.

What not to copy

Don't copy the illustration style or the AI subject shelves. Keep the idea of named rows by subject and one consistent art treatment, and only put products on the homepage if you have some.
