The lesson

Name a few brands the recipient respects as your existing sponsors, with one number, and make your ask a look at the schedule.

The move

The subject is "{Their company name} <> Woodpecker", then a congratulation on a new Head of Product Marketing. It jokes about "this cold email sucks, he should have used Woodpecker". The proof line says "SalesLoft, Gong, Salesforce and Chillipiper get 30k sales professional leads each month". The close is "If you're not opposed to chatting...".

Why it works

  • Our readThe joke about Woodpecker's own product shows the sender looked at what the recipient sells.
  • Our readFour named sponsors put the recipient's company in a peer group, and one monthly number gives a figure to react to.
  • Our read"Let me know if you'd like to look at our event schedule and sponsorship opportunities" asks for a schedule look first; the chat comes last.

What not to copy

Don't copy the unsourced 30k claim. Keep the specific personalization and a named list of peers.
