Protea Waterfront Development proposal

The lesson

Open with a rendering of the buyer's own site, redeveloped, and let the picture carry the proposal's first claim.

The move

The top strip addresses "PROPOSAL TO THE PORT OF SAN DIEGO UNIFIED PORT DISTRICT", "RFP 16-04ME", "MAY 2, 2016", with the Seaport San Diego logo and "WORLD CLASS WATERFRONT DEVELOPMENT" beside it. Below, a full-width aerial rendering shows piers, marinas, a tall tower and a beach.

Why it works

  • Our readThe aerial occupies most of the cover, so the buyer's own waterfront, transformed, comes before any argument.
  • Our readListing the RFP number and date in the top corner ties the document to the procurement it answers.
  • Our readA project name and logo of its own makes the bid read like a finished place.

What not to copy

Don't copy "World Class" wording, which any bidder could write. Keep the buyer's real site in the hero image and the RFP reference up front.
