Pitch Hero outreach email

The lesson

Write cold follow-ups that make the recipient's silence easy to answer, with a lettered menu and two named days to close.

The move

Subject "the audacity of this email". Email 1 admits it is a cold email and ends with an opt-out joke under a Liam Neeson photo. Email 2, the next day, is a few lines about asking for "an actual chat". Email 3 lists options A to D. Email 4 asks "What's your schedule like next Wednesday or Thursday?"

Why it works

  • Our readThe lettered menu turns a reply into a one-letter answer, and the email asks for exactly that: "can you let me know if it's A,B, C".
  • Our readEmail 2 is short and admits a mistake, so it works as a nudge instead of repeating the pitch.
  • Our readEmail 4 has one question, and it names two days, so the only thing it asks for is a day.

What not to copy

Don't copy the jokes, the movie impression or the claim about a virtual salesperson; they are Ian's voice. Keep the one-letter reply menu and the two-day close.
